Cold War Pastoral

During a year long residency, photographer John Kippin documented the changing landscape of Greenham Common, notorious during the Cold War and the scene of a unique peace protest throughout the 1980s and 90s. This project marks the change of use of the site from a military base to common land, with essays examining the history of the Common, the development of the Womens' Peace Movement and the protest at Greenham. 38 colour & b/w illustrations
